IZSVe leads the work package on biosecurity legislation (WP2), conducting in-depth analysis of EU and national regulations that shape biosecurity practices in non-intensive systems. As Italy’s public veterinary reference institute, the team will engage with policymakers, inspectors, and producer organisations to identify practical challenges and draft evidence-based legal recommendations. IZSVe will additionally support pilot studies, stakeholder consultations, and the dissemination of findings to ensure the project’s outputs reach decision-makers effectively.

Tasks: Legislative review, policy briefs, pilot farms (poultry & pig)

Lead: Dr. Guido Di Martino
Role: WP2 Lead
